As part of its $6 million post-election public education campaign, the bipartisan National Council on Election Integrity — a group of more than 40 former elected officials, former Cabinet secretaries, retired military officials, and civic leaders —today announced a $1.5 million ad buy over the next 72 hours in Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C., to ensure that every American’s vote is counted.
“Election Day has passed, but the hard work of fairly and accurately counting all votes continues, as the law requires,” said Michael Beckel, spokesman for the National Council on Election Integrity. “We are reminding voters that they decide the winners of elections, not the candidates. We need to let election officials do their job and count every vote.”
The ad states: “No amount of yelling. No number of campaign ads. No pollster. Nothing can decide an American election — except you. So there’s one thing left that we have to do: Let our election officials do their jobs and count every vote — just like the law requires. Because this election, it isn’t up to the candidates; it’s up to us. Keep counting.”
These TV ads will air in both English and Spanish with the message that voters decide American elections, not the politicians. They will be airing statewide in Pennsylvania on Fox News, on both broadcast and cable news in Philadelphia, and on Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC in Washington, D.C. The campaign’s Spanish language TV ads will be running on Univision and Telemundo in Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.
Since the beginning of October, the National Council on Election Integrity has spent more than $5 million on TV and digital ads nationally and in key battleground states highlighting our nation’s ability to hold successful elections in crises before and stressing that we have a patriotic duty to count every vote cast in accordance with applicable laws.
